The strength of the Siena community is its people. In an effort to bring Siena Heights University a little closer together, faculty and staff - who are willing - to share a bit about themselves personally and professionally, including their roles at Siena. This "Siena Strong" profile is...

Getting to Know... Cody Mathis

Department or Office: Office of Accessibility
SHU Email: cmathis1@sienaheights.edu
Official title: ADA/Accessibility Coordinator
Office Phone: 517-264-7683
Office Room#/Building/Location: University Center room 211

In 100 words or less, my role at Siena Heights is... Coordinates/Creates all things access-related for students with disabilities, staff/faculty needing guidance/training/support, and the campus community's general accessibility for main campus, all nine, satellite campuses, and SHU online. Also functions as the Title IX-Pregnancy specialist.
One thing people at Siena would be surprised to know about me is... I love biology and animal sciences and actually planned on being a Veterinarian almost all the way through high school. A long cry from Disability Services, but God knew where my heart's passion would better serve Him, and I am so grateful (still love animals and science though).
What is your favorite food? Tacos!!
What is your favorite movie/TV show? I thoroughly enjoy anything Mystery, Murder, or Mayhem...
If I were on a desert island and could bring just one book, it would be... The Bible
My favorite thing/person/event about Siena Heights is... The connection--people really care about each other here!
