In 100 words or less, my role at Siena Heights is... As Director of Field Education, it is my responsibility to select, and oversee placement sites; complete paperwork related to assigning agencies, field instructors, and students to field; coordinate evaluations of students; and coordinate Field Supervision workshops. Currently we have 20 job shadow sites and 31 field education placements. As an Assistant Professor in the Social Work Program I teach courses suggest as Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Introduction to Social Work Practice I and II, and Social Work Practice with Diverse Populations. My courses include discussions, visual aids and PowerPoint presentations, guest speakers who are current social work practitioners, and facilitating community-based experiences.
One thing people at Siena would be surprised to know about me is... I study, teach, and professionally perform Raq Sharqi (the Arabic phrase for "Dance of the Orient," also known as belly dance).
What is your favorite food? Lebanese and Mexican
What is your favorite movie/TV show? The Magicians
If I were on a desert island and could bring just one book, it would be... Jemima J: A Novel about Ugly Ducklings and Swans, by Jane Green
My favorite thing/person/event about Siena Heights is... Siena Heights feels like home to me.
